What this benchmark tells you

Per-person pricing falls fast with group size. The market spread runs from roughly $375 per person for a couple down to $130 for a full coach bus — the same wine, the same day.
A low hourly rate is not a low price. A $70/hour town car billed for ten hours from Manhattan costs more than a $175/hour Sprinter billed for five from Riverhead.

When the North Fork is worth the extra money

Selection. Forty-plus wineries clustered across Riverhead, Aquebogue, Jamesport, Mattituck, Cutchogue, Peconic, Southold and Greenport means ten to fifteen minutes between stops, so your paid hours convert into tasting hours once you arrive. It is also the only region where you can realistically do four wineries plus a Briermere Farms pie stop and still make a dinner reservation back in the city.

When the Hudson Valley is the smarter buy

If your group is under eight people, or your budget is firm, the Hudson Valley wins on math almost every time. You save two to three billed hours and $10–$15 per person per tasting. On a group of six, that is typically $500 to $700 in savings for a day that is just as good.

The Hamptons is a different product
